Home » Coercive Control
Coercive Control is the carbon monoxide of abuse, you cannot see, feel or touch this abuse so it can be hard to explain it, but it is there, and it slowly kills everything about you. Coercive Control is used to condition you to comply with everything the abuser wants. It changes the way you think and behave. It is very difficult to spot and to explain. It can make you feel like you cannot leave a house when the door is wide open.
Coercive Control is a pattern of intimidation, degradation, isolation and control which uses many different forms of abuse to achieve this control. Coercive control is now a criminal offence. Coercive control can be likened to being taken hostage – you become trapped in a world of confusion and fear.
